All known browsers. The best internet browsers that no one uses

Hardly anyone will be able to unequivocally say which is the best browser, and this is not surprising. The fact is that there are very, very many of them, and most of them are worthy of attention. Developers try to make their product high-quality, which is also quite logical. But our task with you is to choose an Internet browser for ourselves and fully understand this issue.

What you need to know about browsers?

We do not need to delve into the topic and understand what an interpreter of the HTML language, etc. is, for you it will just be an Internet browser. As noted above, there are quite a few browsers and they are all good in their own way. Some of the developers pay more attention to design, some to navigation, while others prefer speed and ease of use. Agree, all these parameters are vital for the user, especially in cases when you are a beginner or spend most of your free or work time on the Internet. Immediately it is worth drawing your attention to the fact that there is no Internet browser that has all these advantages, but there are those where the developers' solution is best implemented. The point is, if you ask ten users what is the best browser, you will get different answers. Of course, a few people will lean towards one thing, some towards something completely different. And now we will figure out why this is so.

Why do people use different browsers?

If everything were that simple, then all mankind would use one browser that meets basic consumer requirements, such as speed, usability, simplicity, etc. But in practice, everything is somewhat different. Someone uses "Opera", and someone "Chrome", there are even those who have "Internet Explorer" as their default browser, but there are only a few of them. If you have used a certain Internet browser from the first time you went online, then you are unlikely to want to use any other, even if it is even slightly better. But that's not the main reason there is a whole line of popular browsers out there. The fact is that a lot also depends on the needs of the user, or rather, on what he wants to achieve from the browser. So, those who value speed use one product, for whom navigation is important - another, and those who prefer comfort - the third. That is why you can't just go and say which is the best browser. But let's talk about what a good browser should be like.

High speed of loading pages

According to statistics, most users put this indicator in first place. This is quite justified, because who needs a product that loads one page at a good Internet speed for a long time. It is important to understand here that not everything depends on your Internet connection, since many people sin on a bad connection. The fact is that there is a speed of the browser and the speed of loading pages. Performance is in no way dependent on what kind of connection you have. As a rule, they sin on the engine here. As for the speed of loading pages, then not only your Internet is important here, but also the processing speed of the browser. It should be noted that all browsers differ in this indicator. This is due to the fact that the developers have their own approach to solving the problem. In some cases, it really makes sense to pay attention to your Internet and only then look for problems in the software.

Comfort and attractiveness

As a rule, most of the users use the Internet to simply browse the web pages. Sometimes you want to save information, add an interesting site to your bookmarks, etc. The easier and faster it can be done, the better. If you can quickly view the history and select the information you are interested in from there, change the settings without bothering, or quickly navigate through the sections of the browser, then it is really convenient.

Basically, the number of functions affects performance, so it should be specific. It is best if the most important is present. Attractiveness is a personal issue for each of us. Beautiful themes that are easy to use will only come in handy. Of course, today's best free browsers have a huge selection of visual themes, but not all of them will suit you. Something will strain the eyes too much, and something will simply interfere with reading the text.

Opera browser and its features

Many users started with this Internet browser. Those who are used to it still use it. The developers are constantly updating the product and adding new functions and other useful additions there. Opera is rightfully considered the simplest browser, as its interface is extremely user-friendly and straightforward. For those whose pages are loading too slowly, there is a special "Turbo" mode that allows you to speed up the process.

A distinctive feature is that Opera works without problems with a large number of open tabs, and this practically does not affect the system load and the actual speed. It is also worth noting a very convenient download manager, as well as the ability to correspond by mail directly from the interface. In short, this is a fairly good, simple and fast Internet browser, both for a beginner and a more experienced user. But there are also disadvantages. Among them - insufficient speed of processing scripts and the absence of bookmarks in the latest versions of the program.

A quick tour of Google Chrome

In recent years, this columnist has gained immense popularity. If you compose the TOP, in which there will be only the best browsers for Windows, then among the leaders there will certainly be "Chrome". The fact is that the best Google specialists worked on the creation of this masterpiece, and we can say with confidence that they coped with the task. Hardly any other product can boast of such performance and page loading speed. "Chromium" is not very picky about the "hardware" and therefore is used by many. After you install it, you will not see anything but a few buttons. The unnecessary has been removed, and everything you need can be downloaded as an add-on, since there is a lot of such goodness and in a large assortment. Of the advantages, it is worth highlighting the built-in antivirus program, which warns about the transition to a malicious site. Please note that in "Chrome" there is only one search line, which is used both for entering the site address and for search queries, which is very convenient. It even has a dedicated developer panel and multilingual interface. As for the disadvantages, they include the lack of visual bookmarks, but they can be added through special extensions.

A good fast browser or a little about Mozilla Firefox

If we talk about "Mozilla", then this observer is something between "Opera" and "Chrome". It is quite fast and simple, has a laconic design and user-friendly interface.

Just like Chrome, it has a ton of different extensions and applications. All passwords can be saved, and the security of data storage is very well implemented here. There is a bookmark bar and an automatic update function to the latest version. In principle, it makes no sense to list all the features and benefits of this browser. One thing can be said: it is good, but not for everyone. The fact is that the performance here is not the best; nevertheless, this error is completely compensated for by fine tuning.

A few words about the domestic product

Many have probably already guessed that it will be about nothing else than "Yandex Browser". Its peculiarity, one might even say, an advantage, lies in the fact that security is well established here. And not only storage of personal data, but also the actual stay on the Internet.

It is also worth highlighting the full integration with Yandex services. By the way, Chrome is also fully integrated with Google. If you have Yandex on your computer, then you can use cloud storage, that is, store important information on the server. Directly from the interface, you can view files with the / doc and pdf extensions, this is also possible with "Chrome". If you want to transfer the settings from any other Internet browser, then you can do this, which is undoubtedly convenient.

It is up to you to decide which is the best browser for you. As noted above, it all depends on what you need a browser for. However, it is highly recommended that you try several options. For example, Chrome and Opera, or Yandex and Amigo. Then you yourself decide what you like best. Many do not know that the same "Internet Explorer" is recommended for use on laptops when the devices are not working from the network, but offline. This is due to the fact that this browser saves battery power, and this, you see, is a big plus, even if you have to sacrifice data processing speed. Although, if you update IE to the latest version, you will hardly notice a loss in this parameter.

Conclusion

As you can see, the best browser for a computer can be anything, because there is practically no difference to the operating system what to work with, it is rather in your needs. We've covered the basic parameters that modern Internet browsers should meet, and you know what to focus on. If you choose the best browser for Android, then pay attention to how much RAM it uses and how optimized it is. Currently, the optimal solution may be "Chrome", "Opera", "Yandex", which have long been configured for this platform. That, in principle, is all on this topic. Believe me, choosing a good browser is not as difficult as it might seem at first glance, and it will not be difficult to understand any of those described in this article.

Each person has unique tastes, preferences, and requirements. If one thing gets to a hundred people for testing, then each one will announce a different result. Some opinions will be similar, others will differ, and this is natural. It's the same in software. A browser is a program that a person uses to surf the Internet. We launch it every day, so it is important to choose a convenient browser that will meet all the requirements.
Using the browser, you can search for any information, listen to music, watch movies, and also play your favorite games. Any rating will be controversial, but let's try to rank the best browsers. In this article, you will analyze the criteria for choosing a good browser for Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 10... We will study in detail the advantages and disadvantages of each of them. Based on our rating, you will be able to find a good browser for yourself.

Google Chrome 1st place

It is the most popular browser in existence today. The program can be called the best and fastest on the Windows operating system. Its opening took place in 2008. Chrome was based on the then popular Safari WebKit browser. Formally, it was crossed with the V8 javascript engine. Subsequently, this hybrid was renamed Chromium. Further development was attended by such famous companies as Google, Opera Software, as well as Yandex and several other major developers. Google was the first to create its own version of the browser on Chromium. A year later, it was installed on 3.6% of computers worldwide. He began to quickly gain popularity, today he is the undisputed leader and occupies 42.21%. It should be noted that most of them are smartphones in which the browser comes preinstalled.

Advantages:

  1. High speed of work. Chrome significantly outperforms the competition in terms of browser speed, as well as the processing of displayed resources. In addition, there is a convenient function of preloading pages, which further increases the speed of work.
  2. Security. The company has implemented reliable technologies that ensure the safety of the browser. They continue to actively develop. The browser has a database of phishing and malicious resources that is regularly updated. The browser works according to a unique scheme in such a way that not a single process is involved, but several at once, but with lower privileges. Downloading files with the permission .bat, .exe, or.dll requires additional confirmation, which reduces the chances of a virus downloading.
  3. There is an "Incognito" mode. This is a very convenient feature when you need to view a large number of sites, but at the same time do not leave traces of their visit on your computer.
  4. Sophisticated interface. It is quite simple and contains everything you need, without unnecessary elements. Chrome is the first browser to offer quick access. The panel shows the most visited resources. Another feature is the sharing of the address bar and the search engine. Later, this feature was implemented in other browsers.
  5. Stable work. Recently, there have been no such cases when Google Chrome was malfunctioning or it was very slow. This can only happen if there are viruses in the system. In many ways, the security and stability of work is improved by using several processes, separated from each other. If one of them stops working, the rest continue to function.
  6. There is a task manager for the "Additional Tools" menu. Almost no one knows about this feature. Thanks to a handy tool, you can track how many resources are occupied by an entire tab or a separate plugin. You can find and fix the source of the problem if the application slows down.
  7. Large selection of extensions, many of which are free to download. There are also many plugins and themes available. The browser can be customized according to personal preference, which is very convenient.
  8. There is a possibility of automatic translation of pages. For this, Google Translate is involved.
  9. The program is updated automatically without disturbing the user.
  10. Search queries can be specified by voice; for this, the service " Ok google».
Disadvantages:
  1. Starting with version 42.0, support for NPAPI plugins has been stopped, including the rather popular Flash Player.
  2. For the application to run smoothly, you need at least 2GB of RAM.
  3. Most of the extensions and plugins are made in a foreign language.
  4. The heavy load on the hardware contributes to the short battery life of laptops and smartphones.
I've been using Chrome for quite some time now as my primary browser. For the entire time of work, he did not cause serious complaints. Its integration into the system of other Google services is very convenient. One account can unite your computer and mobile device, there is the possibility of continuous synchronization.
I don't like the fact that all user data is stored on American servers (most likely now the data is stored on Russian servers). It stores mail, personal contacts and search information. However, you shouldn't rule out the possibility that other browsers are doing the same. It is necessary to take precautions as much as possible, then you will have nothing to be afraid of. If you do not want to disclose your own data, but at the same time continue to use Chrome, then use SlimJet or SRWare Iron, we will talk about them below.

Yandex Browser 2nd place

The browser has the shortest history, it was discovered in 2012. He is very popular in Russia. The browser supports integration with Yandex services which are very convenient to use. The default search engine is Yandex. The interface turned out to be quite original, although it was created on the Chromium engine. The quick launch panel immediately catches your eye. It is made in a tiled style.

The user can place up to 20 tiles. The browser uses "Smart Line", which not only transfers the entered phrase to the search engine, but also automatically selects the required site if the name matches. Unfortunately, so far this function only works with large resources. Mouse manipulation is supported, with which you can control web browsing with simple movements.

Advantages:

Disadvantages:

  1. Not everyone will like the original interface.
  2. Linking to various Yandex services. Without them, the program is devoid of many features.
  3. Rarely, but still there are problems with the transfer of settings and history.
Not everyone will like the new interface, because it is radically different from competitors. It will take some time to get used to these features.

Mozilla Firefox 3rd place

Now Mozila is the most popular foreign browser, and in Russia it ranks third. Over the past few years, he began to lose ground, but only slightly. The first version of the program appeared in 2004, since then there have been many changes. The application engine is Gecko - it is freely available and continues to be improved by the developers. Technically, this is the first browser to have a huge base of extensions even before the advent of Chrome. He was among the first to implement the maximum privacy mode that Google invented.

Advantages:

  1. Simple and very user-friendly interface with no unnecessary details.
  2. Convenient settings system that allows you to radically change the browser, customizing it to your liking.
  3. A large number of all kinds of plugins. You can choose them for every taste, because at the moment there are more than 100,000 of them.
  4. Cross-platform. The browser can be downloaded for any operating system that is used on modern technology.
  5. Reliability. I got into situations where the user caught a banner blocking all browsers, but Firefox continued to function.
  6. The maximum level of security and privacy of personal data.
  7. Comfortable bookmark bar.
  8. The program may refuse to track information about you by various sites. You can set up private browsing of pages. In addition, there is a Master Passwords feature that additionally protects your records on certain resources.
  9. Updates happen in the background without the need for user intervention.
Disadvantages:
  1. Compared to Chrome, the interface slows down a little and takes longer to respond to user manipulations.
  2. Performance is average;
  3. Lack of script support on some resources, as a result of which the content may not function properly.
  4. The application requires a lot of RAM.

Opera 4th place

This is the oldest observer, which was opened back in 1994. I started using it about 15 years ago, and I still use it as needed. Until 2013 Opera had its own engine, but now it uses Webkit + V8. The exact same technology is used by Google Chrome. In 2010, the company launched a mobile version of the program. Now it is the fourth most popular browser in Russia, and it ranks sixth in the world.

Advantages:

  1. Excellent speed of work and page display. The features of the browser include turbo mode, which significantly increases the speed of loading pages through the use of cloud technologies. At the same time, traffic is significantly saved, which is very important when using the mobile version.
  2. There is a convenient express panel with saved bookmarks. This is a modified Speed Dial tool that we saw in previous versions of the browser.
  3. Opera Link technology, which is needed to synchronize different devices.
  4. Lots of hot keys to simplify management.
  5. Opera Unite internet browser.
Disadvantages:
  1. A large amount of RAM is required for efficient operation. If you open several tabs at the same time, then Opera will start to slow down. Even Chrome's reliable engine doesn't fix the situation.
  2. Incorrect work of scripts and various forms is observed on many sites. There are a lot of complaints about working with WML.
  3. Stability is not a browser's strong point. The company could not get rid of periodic failures and freezes.
    4. Own system of bookmarks, which is nicknamed "Piggy bank". This is a pretty interesting solution, but poorly implemented.
I only use opera as a secondary browser. The "Turbo" function is useful when working with a modem, because in this case a high speed of displaying pages and saving the consumed traffic are combined. With Unite technology, you can turn your browser into a real server. On it you can arrange access to a variety of files, exchange SMS notifications and photos. The files are stored on the PC and become available only when the program is started. This is a great replacement for Chrome if you don't want to use it for some reason.

K-Meleon 5th place

This application began to be developed back in 2000. In fact, it is a relative of Mozilla Firefox, they use the same engine. You ask why he entered the rating, if they practically do not differ? The point is that they have strong differences. For example, today K-Meleon is the lightest browser for the Windows system. Such results were achieved due to the peculiarities of its development. Initially, the program was only supposed to demonstrate the capabilities of the new engine. As a result, the company was able to achieve economical consumption of PC resources.

Advantages:

  1. Small requirements for PC resources, including a low amount of RAM.
  2. The use of the native Windows interface, which significantly saves time and resources spent on the interface.
  3. High speed of work.
  4. Good personalization options, and for this you do not need to use third-party extensions. Everything is arranged using macros. It will be difficult for a beginner to master, but in your free time you can figure it out.
  5. There is a large selection of assemblies. You can choose an extension with the desired set of functions.
  6. You can create multiple profiles for different users.
Disadvantages:
  1. Quite a clumsy interface. If we compare it with the leaders of the Top 5, then this browser has a too simple design.
  2. Rarely, there are problems with the display of the Cyrillic alphabet, but in the latest updates the situation has been corrected.
This is the best option for weak PCs. The browser will function normally on an old laptop running the Windows XP operating system. You will be able to enjoy comfortable Internet surfing. And on modern hardware, it will work even better. Many professionals use it as the best browser. This should not be surprising, because in some respects K-Meleon outperforms its competitors.

Internet Explorer

It is a free browser that is included with the integrated Windows software. Developed by Microsoft since 1995 to this day. Therefore, the browser was one of the most popular in Russia, but then Chrome appeared. Now he has greatly lost his position and is ranked 5th in popularity. The reason can be considered the completion of its development. Along with Windows 10 came the development of the company - Spartan.
In its entire history, the browser has never been considered the best, everyone knew about a large number of vulnerabilities that various viruses used. For a very long time, it has been a vulnerability of every computer running the Windows operating system. The situation changed for the better with the release of Internet Explorer 10, it is included in the Windows 8 package. All holes were improved and, subject to certain rules, the browser was considered safe.
Version 11 appeared along with the Windows 8.1 update, it is the latest in the line. In terms of the speed of work, it can be compared with competitors, but it is still slightly inferior to them. Now there is a privacy mode, a preliminary rating, and caching is also supported, it allows you to increase the speed of the browser. Despite the successful innovations, the browser only loses its position. In my work, I use Internet Explorer only to enter the web interface of my home router and other network equipment. There is a simple explanation for this, this is the browser that the developers use, so the markup is designed for it. It is better to use a different browser to browse the Internet.

There are now many browsers out there that we didn't mention in our roundup. We have presented our selection of the best browsers, but each may have a different opinion. The review presents only those reviewers with whom I have come across. They are completely free to download and use without any restrictions. The current version can be found on the official website. If you can suggest decent browsers that should be in the Top 5, then indicate your options in the comments.

When choosing a program for working on the World Wide Web, many are mainly interested in what is the fastest browser for Windows 7 today.

Although there are just a huge number of other criteria for choosing a browser.

Today you can find and download many "self-written" browsers, that is, those that were developed by novice programmers, and not by teams of professionals.

So, their main drawback is the speed of work.

It doesn't even talk about the safety and security of data.

In any case, today we will analyze all the main characteristics that will help you choose a program for accessing the Internet, and the main one will be the speed of work.

As for how this very speed will be tested, a very simple method will be chosen, which consists in starting the browser or performing other operations on it with a stopwatch.

In particular, the speed will be tested on such operations as launching the browser itself, opening a site site, authorizing in a Google mail account, launching a video and installing speed.

The tests will not be carried out on a new computer.

This choice is due to the fact that one wants to achieve the maximum objectivity of research.

Yes, usually these tests use "clean" machines, but after all, we all do not have the opportunity to reinstall the operating system every month.

This would make it possible to make a completely "clean" machine out of a used computer.

In general, the conditions will not be as close to reality as possible, they will be quite real. Go!

Opera

This browser was released in 1994. Until 2013, he worked on his own engine, then switched to Webkit + V8, which is familiar to many developers, which, by the way, is also used a little in Google Chrome.

According to research on several sites, it is the fifth most popular browser in the world. Users love the mobile version called Opera Mini.

The main advantage of this program is its excellent ability to save traffic. This allows many users to pay less for the internet.

You can download this browser absolutely free on the official website www.opera.com/ru.

On this site there is one big button "Download now", which allows you to start downloading.

For our tests, the most recent version, downloaded from the official site, will be taken.

Speed tests gave the following results:

  • Browser launch time - 3 s;
  • Site opening time - 2 s;
  • Video start time - 2 s;
  • Installation time - 1.3 minutes (from starting the installer program to closing it).

By the way, the design of the installation window for this program is very beautiful, but at the same time minimalistic.

The installation process itself takes very little time.

The user only needs to press one button and nothing else - he does not choose the path, does not read a bunch of license terms, does not watch presentations, and so on.

On the one hand, this, of course, is good, because a simple user does not need all this.

But some will say that this is bad, because “who knows what they are writing in the license there”.

But since we are evaluating the speed of work, in this respect Opera shows itself excellently.

Other advantages and disadvantages of Opera

In addition to speed when choosing a program to access the Internet, it will also be useful to know about the following advantages of Opera:

  1. Saving traffic. The trademark of this browser.
  2. The presence of the Turbo mode, which allows you to work on even faster slow computers and still save traffic.
  3. Its own express panel with bookmarks. In other browsers, this function must be installed additionally. Yes, there are bookmark bars, but they are not as functional.
  4. Hot keys of management. In fact, this browser can be operated without a mouse.
  5. Ease of use. Opera is not loaded with plugins for privacy and other similar functions, so it is able to work many times faster.

The disadvantages of Opera include the following:

  1. It may not work at all on old machines. On the other hand, nothing from the modern standard set of the user already works for them. And who is using such old computers nowadays?
  2. Incorrect work of some scripts. In defense of Opera, we can also say that not all existing scripts work on other browsers either.
    Complaints about the instability of work - it restarts, throws it out, and so on. It also occurs not so often - whoever is unlucky will restart.

Google chrome

This browser was released in 2008 - relatively recently.

Its direct progenitor is the Safari browser, which then they also tried to adapt to Windows, but these attempts were unsuccessful - it turned out too slow, and often restarted.

Safari was originally designed for Mac computers. Powered by Google Chrome on its own engine called Chrominium.

Last year, this browser was the first in many polls on the Russian Internet.

You can download Google Chrome on the official website - www.google.ru/chrome/browser/desktop/index.html (a very non-standard link that could be shortened).

There, too, there is a single button that should be pressed.

By the way, here, on the download site, you can read the license agreement, as well as set Google Chrome as the default browser and check the box on sending reports on work to Google.

By the way, many refuse the latter.

To do this, you just need to uncheck the box highlighted in green in Figure 4.

Testing the speed of this browser gave the following results:

  • Browser launch time - 4 s;
  • Site opening time - 5 s;
  • Authorization time in the Google mail account - 1 s;
  • Video start time - 1 s;
  • Installation time - 1.5 minutes.

By the way, when installing here, some additional content is downloaded here, which makes the whole process a little longer.

Otherwise, Google Chrome performs really well, but still a little worse than Opera.

And this despite the fact that it is this browser that many authors of such articles call the fastest.

As you can see, tests in real conditions gave a different result.

Advantages and Disadvantages of Google Chrome

Also, users who choose a program to access the Internet will find it very useful to know about the following advantages of Google Chrome:

  1. Security. Great attention is paid to this here. Google Chrome has a huge number of additional programs and scripts that protect against all sorts of attacks and viruses. In addition, this browser has its own database with these same viruses and malicious sites.
  2. "Incognito" mode, which allows you to be discreetly on various sites. This means that there will be no cookie or any other information about the stay of the user working in the "Incognito" mode on the site.
  3. Work stability. It is very rare to hear about Google Chrome that it reloads or does not stand up to a large number of sites.
  4. Its own "Task Manager", which makes it possible to see how many resources a particular site is consuming, as well as a plugin.
  5. Normal work with extensions. It is also very rare to hear complaints about this.
  6. Search voice control.

The disadvantages include the following:

  1. Lack of support for NPAPI plugins since version 42.0. A lot of modern plugins work on this platform. And users are faced with the difficulties of installing them, or even with the impossibility of completing this task.

Otherwise, Google Chrome performs just fine.

As you can see, the speed of its work is not too much inferior to Opera, therefore, taking into account all the other advantages, it is not surprising that this particular browser is called the best for today.

Mozilla Firefox

In 2014, in all foreign polls, this browser took a strong first place. But then the two programs described above took the leading position from Mozilla Firefox.

Still, what contribution the "cunning fox", as many users call him, made to the development of browsers in general, deserves respect.

The fact is that Mozilla Firefox became the first browser in the world to have its own extension base. It was for him that the first extensions and plugins began to be written.

Unsurprisingly, Mozilla Firefox has the largest extension base as of 2017.

In addition, it was in this browser that privacy mode first appeared.

Today this idea is actively used by Google specialists, including in the development of the aforementioned Google Chrome.

The first version of this program was released in 2004 on the Gecko engine. To this day, nothing has changed in terms of the engine.

But this does not prevent the program from constantly improving and gaining new positions in the market.

Although, of course, since 2014, Mozilla Firefox has lost a lot of popularity.

Downloading this browser is also most convenient on the official page - www.mozilla.org/ru/firefox/new/.

By good tradition, the site has one big button "Download for free".

There are no longer any licensing agreements on the site. And in general, the download takes place in automatic mode and this process does not delay anything.

In the installer window, you can use additional settings. The settings window is shown in Figure 6.

As you can see, in it you can specify where the program shortcuts should be installed, the installation path, and also whether this browser should be made the main one.

Advice: When installing, be sure to use the advanced settings window, because otherwise, program shortcuts will appear on the taskbar, on the desktop and in the Start menu, which is often not needed by users! In addition, installation information will be sent to Mozilla, and the browser itself will become the default browser.

To open this very window of additional settings at startup, press the "Settings" button, highlighted in Figure 7.

The installation itself also begins with downloading additional files. This, of course, makes the process longer.

Testing the runtime of Mozilla Firefox gave the following results:

  • Browser launch time - 5 s;
  • Site opening time - 3 s;
  • Authorization time in the Google mail account - 1 s;
  • Video start time - 2 s;
  • Installation time - 1.35 minutes.

Mozilla Firefox advantages and disadvantages

The advantages of Mozilla Firefox are as follows:

  1. Reliability in work. There are plugins that can "kill" absolutely all browsers, except Mozilla Firefox.
  2. Security and privacy at the highest level. This is the only browser of its kind that can block the collection of information about a particular user by sites, including Google. This makes it possible not to see annoying ads that are generated at the request of this user.
  3. Versions are updated in the background.
  4. In addition, the widest base of plugins and extensions mentioned above should also be included here.

The disadvantages of Mozilla Firefox are:

  1. Immunity of some modern scripts.
  2. Frequent complaints about slow work, especially at high loads.

From all this, we can conclude that Mozilla Firefox clearly cannot be considered the fastest browser for Windows 7.

Yandex browser

It is the youngest modern browser among those used by several million people. For the first time, users heard about this browser in 2012.

Now, in 2017, Yandex is actively promoting its product using contextual advertising. Here, of course, everything is aimed at working directly with Yandex services.

So this browser by default already has mail, translator, disk, money and everything else that the most popular Russian search engine only offers.

By the way, the engine in Yandex Browser is the same Chromium. Many users say that this program has its own quick launch bar, which is called "Scoreboard" here.

This is considered a feature of Yandex Browser, but for a common man in the street, this is practically the same bookmark bar that is in the same Opera.

True, there it is much more functional.

The "Scoreboard" can accommodate 20 different sites.

An interesting feature of this browser is the work with mouse gestures.

This means that there is a certain set of gestures that are formed by certain movements of the cursor and perform certain functions.

There are also a huge number of extensions and plugins, most of which are taken from the already beloved Google Chrome.

This is due to the fact that these two browsers are running on the same Chromium engine.

You can download Yandex.Browser on the official website - browser.yandex.ru.

Although, if you visit the site yandex.ru several times, you will definitely see an advertisement for this browser and you can follow the link to download it.

This site also has a great big Download button.

The results of testing the speed of this browser gave the following results:

  • Browser launch time - 11 s;
  • Site opening time - 4 seconds (the first launch, by the way, gave the result in 24 seconds);
  • Authorization time in the Google mail account - 4 s;
  • Video start time - 2 s;
  • Installation time - 2.10 minutes.

During installation, it is also possible to make Yandex Browser the default browser and make it possible to send data to Yandex specialists.

To do this, check the boxes marked in green in Figure 9.

Most users prefer to uncheck these boxes, which is not surprising at all.

As you can see, in terms of speed, Yandex Browser is clearly inferior to the same Mozilla Firefox.

Advantages and disadvantages of Yandex Browser

The advantages of Yandex Browser are as follows:

  1. The developers pay great attention to security. So the program automatically checks a particular site for suspicion. It has its own criteria of suspicion (Web of Trust), as well as installed by default programs to block phishing attacks and ads.
  2. Its own system for viewing documents in formats such as .pdf, .doc and others.
  3. Your translator.
  4. Turbo mode, like in Opera.

The disadvantages include the following:

  1. Imposing Yandex services, which many users dislike. Although, on the other hand, this is exactly what this browser was created for.
    Many people don't like the interface.
  2. Difficulties in setting up. Many functions that are in the same Opera or Mozilla are simply not available in Yandex Browser.

In general, from all this, we can conclude that Yandex Browser is far from the fastest and most optimized browser.

Maxthon

Now let's move on to some somewhat exotic browsers that are not as popular as Yandex Browser, Mozilla Firefox, Opera and Google Chrome.

One of the rather promising in this direction is a browser called Maxthon.

Its main feature is the combination of two engines at once - Webkit and Trident. Some parts of the first are used in Yandex Browser, Opera and Google Chrome.

And the second was used to create the very first in the history of the Internet Explorer browser. Thanks to this combination, in fact, it was possible to achieve a very high speed.

At least, this is what the developers of this program say.

In principle, and on the forums, people write that in some cases it works even faster than the vaunted Google Chrome.

But to check this, there is only one way, which we will now use.

The Maxthon speed test readings look like this:

  • Browser launch time - 0.7 s;
  • Site opening time - 1 s;
  • Authorization time in the Google mail account - 0.6 s;
  • Video start time - 0.8 s;
  • Installation time - 1.17 minutes.

As you can see, Maxthon really shows just phenomenal results! But speed is far from the only advantage of this browser.

Maxthon advantages and disadvantages

The advantages of the Maxthon browser are:

  1. Working with cloud storage - all personal settings, records and authorization data are saved not on the hard drive, but in the cloud. This prevents the user from losing it all.
  2. The browser requires few resources.
  3. It is possible to remove ads without additional plugins.
  4. A huge number of extensions.
  5. Its own security system, which, judging by the reviews, works very well.
  6. Notepad for notes.
  7. Night view mode, which optimizes pages with dark backgrounds, too many ads, or other nuances that make reading information inconvenient.

In general, we can say that Maxthon is a very, very multifunctional thing.

On the side there is a toolbar, which contains the same notebook, a download manager, a tool for working with RSS, as well as several Yandex services.

Its disadvantages can be attributed only to the fact that it also promotes these same Yandex services. But Yandex Browser is still very far from Maxthon!

So every user should definitely try to use Maxthon in their work.

No. 11. Maxthon browser appearance

Users who are little versed in programs and the computer as a whole will hardly want to install each of the browsers and compare them with each other. Therefore, it is useful to know the usage shares around the world. Google Chrome took the first place with a share of about 40%, followed by Mozilla Firefox - 20%, Internet Explorer - 15%, Opera - 10%, and Safari and other software products round out the top five. This is the general distribution of forces around the world. Of course, in some regions the situation may be different. For example, in Russia Yandex Browser is gaining popularity.

Distributing browsers by speed, you can see that Google Chrome will still be the first. Behind it Safari and Internet Explorer. But when choosing such a software product, you cannot use only this parameter. The interface, ease of use, developed plugins and various systems for better working with the Internet are also important.

What affects the speed of work

By the way, the speed of your browser directly depends on its settings, the speed of your internet, plugins and connected third-party bars or add-ons. The more programs you build into your browser, the slower it will run. An example of such add-ons would be antivirus panel, Mail.ru applications, etc.

You should not strive for the maximum speed of work in the Windows operating system, because its optimization will not allow this anyway. If you want to work faster, use an SSD hard drive on ultra-fast conductors and Mac computers from Apple.

The distribution of loads between running processes in Windows and MAC is completely different. In addition, Windows has always sold well, but Apple technology began to be used in Russia and around the world not so long ago, it was possible to gain popularity only due to the best quality.

When choosing a browser, what you are more accustomed to also has an important influence. If you have been using Mozilla for 5 years, you will continue to use it for as long. So that the programs do not slow down, it is better to regularly update them to the latest versions. On average, browsers are updated once a month, which is quite frequent. Optimization work in updates is also underway, so over time you will notice an increase in speed. Well, if you still want to choose the best browser for yourself, then download and install everything, they are free.

I decided to write an article and choose the best browser of 2016 (and it doesn't matter that it's only the beginning of the year). The principles and criteria by which we used to choose a browser do not work today, and in this article I will tell you what has changed and why.

Best Browser 2016

If you are interested in this topic, then you most likely know that in the last couple of three years, google chrome has been and is the clear leader. Indeed, the browser from Google is good, even very good, but, as it turned out, not everything is so simple.

Thanks to Moore's Law (according to him, the power of computers will double every 2 years), a recently purchased computer is not so good in a year. Accordingly, companies that create programs for working on the Internet have adjusted to the power of computers and added more and more cool features to their creations.

However, in recent years, the rapid growth began to subside, and all this, possibly due to the fact that a bar is already visible, above which we cannot yet jump. In this situation (drum roll) - optimization comes to the fore.

Optimize your browser too - find out how to increase your browser cache in our other article.

Now every manufacturer is trying to make sure that it is on his operating system, in his program, everything works better than that of competitors. Therefore, we will choose the best browser for multiple platforms (Mac, Windows, mobile operating systems).

The best browser for Mac OS

In the article where I talked about how to speed up a mac, I already mentioned that it is best to use Apple's solution, namely Safari. The essence of this conclusion is that the browser is deeply integrated into the system, which allows it to use it to the maximum. If you enable system diagnostics and run google chrome in parallel with safari on mac, you can visually understand how much safari uses system resources more economically.

It's just in disrepair. Now, I will play the youtube video in 1080p in both browsers and here's the result:

In addition, Apple did a good job and made safari much faster than others (at least on Mac OS):

Well, what can I say about the appearance, it is great:

However, there are also downsides to all this. No matter how hard everyone tries to abandon flash, it will not work so quickly ... And as we remember, thanks to Steve Jobs, Apple does not work with flash and safari is no exception, so, in most cases, if you want to watch a movie (if you certainly do not use any service where everything is supported) you will have to open another browser.

And in general, you will not see everything related to flash ... But I do not consider this a problem, since this year Flash will be abandoned by Google, and after them all over the world. So at the end of the year you won't even remember this pain.

So we have a winner! The best browser for Mac OS is Safari.

The best browser for Windows

Unfortunately, in windows, not everything is as good as in "apple", because, as we all know, Internet Explorer was a tough guy until version 6, after which, for some reason, he stopped developing and took up his head only at 9 version, when the whole world of web programmers and people under 40 was proclaimed shit.

While IE was missing the opportunity to take a leading place in the world (due to the number of installed Windows operating systems), companies such as Mozilla, Google, Yandex released their solution, which was many times superior to the native one from Microsoft. In these circumstances, we have been witnessing a fierce struggle for the right of the leader between google chrome and firefox for several years.

Both browsers are good, some like more one, some other, but, in general, they are almost equal in functionality (although in the latest versions of Chrome it has taken a lot ahead). Apple's safari has practically nothing on the windows market, because at some point they decided to drop support for the Windows version of safari.

Yandex Browser, which recently appeared, has not yet become so popular, but it is rapidly gaining momentum in the Russian segment of the Internet and it is really good. It's nice when something worthwhile has been produced in Russia.

At this stage, the best browser of 2016 for windows is Google chrome.

The best browser for mobile devices

Unlike desktop computers, mobile devices have evolved almost in parallel and, in short, everything works approximately according to the following laws:

  1. On Android, it is convenient and pleasant to use google chrome (because everything is promoted by one company);
  2. On iOS it is convenient to use safari for the same reasons;

I do not consider the rest of the OS, because there is no sense from them. It is clear that there are many different nuances, each company comes up with new, convenient chips that do not work for competitors, and so on. To consider this in more detail, you need to write a separate article about it, so the meaning can be found in those 2 statements that are above.

Conclusion

In 2016, all manufacturing companies took a course to optimize their solutions, and not to endless improvement. So, no matter which option you choose, you will most likely be satisfied, because everyone wants to do something better than others, and we only benefit from this. So now the choice concerns only your taste and nothing more. Thank you all, use browsers and enjoy life (or you can leave comments and express your opinion).
