Optimal android. Autostart and background processes. Is it worth using utilities to speed up Android

Technologies

Just like computers smartphones over time, they start to slow down.

But there are some simple ways to increase the speed of your iOS or Android device.

Here are some simple tips:

How to speed up your smartphone

1. Update your operating system.

If your smartphone is running slower than before, then it is possible that the operating system on it is not the latest version. Newer versions of iOS or Android will allow your smartphones to improve their performance in terms of faster performance.

But before updating, you should connect your phone to WiFi and save all data. In addition, make sure that your smartphone supports the new version of the operating system, as too old devices, as well as ultra-budget smartphones, cannot be optimized.

For iPhone

"Settings" - "General" - "Software Update".

For Android devices

"Settings" - "About Phone" - "System Updates" or "Software Updates" to check for updates.

2. Disable or limit animation on your phone.

Animation of windows on the phone (when you move from one screen to another or from one application to another), of course, looks beautiful and impressive, but these details can slow down the smartphone, as they need additional system resources.

For Android devices:

Option 1: "Settings" - "Screen" - "Animation", then select "No animation".

Option 2: "Settings" - "For Developers", find the items that are responsible for animation and select "Disable animation" or "No animation".

For iOS devices:

"Settings" - "General" - "Accessibility" - "Reduce motion". After that, try to enable or close any application and then go to the multitasking panel. The animation didn’t turn off, but it changed.

3. Try to install only the most essential applications.

There are tons of programs and tools in the app stores, and it seems like you need a lot of them. But it is worth considering whether you should install this or that application, and whether you will really use it often.

Any application uses the resources of your smartphone, and the less of them, the faster your device works.

4. Get rid of unused applications.

Uninstall apps that you don't need or that you rarely use. This can be done by opening the list of applications. Any application can be restored if you decide to return it. Programs and games take up the device's memory, so the fewer the number of games, the faster the device works.

5. Get rid of widgets on your smartphone screen.

The programs you install on your home screen may be useful, but they can seriously slow down your phone. Many widgets regularly run in the background looking for new information or updates. If this or that widget on the home screen of your phone is not very important to you, just delete it.

6. Do not use Live Wallpaper.

It's a beautiful feature, but just like widgets on a smartphone screen, it consumes not only the device's RAM, but also its battery. Over time, "live wallpapers" will seriously slow down your smartphone. You should also refrain from using bright, multi-colored pictures on the screen - ideally, the screen should be black.

7. Disable autostart unnecessary programs.

For Android: "Settings" - "Applications" - "Running services" or "Settings" - "Application management" - "Running". See which programs you would not like to start automatically - stop them and restart your phone. You can use one of the process managers in the app store to stop different services on your phone.

By disabling the autoplay of unnecessary programs, the overall performance of your smartphone will increase.

8. Automatically clear your messengers after 30 days.

Most smartphone users don't even think about cleaning up the junk in various messaging apps. If you have more than 1 gigabyte of text messages that slow down your phone, then you should think about cleaning the messenger.

Luckily for iPhone owners, the iMessage app has the ability to clear messages every 30 days (Settings - Messages - Keep Messages). But if you want to keep all messages, then it is better to store them in an archived form in the cloud (iCloud).

On Android devices, you will have to manually delete messages. However, there is a function in the phone settings that allows you to get rid of old messages when there is little space left on the phone.

9. Disable automatic application updates.

For devices onAndroid

Google Play has a mechanism that automatically checks the versions of installed applications. If it finds a newer version, it automatically (in the background) updates this or that application to the new version. Such an update service requires a portion of the RAM resources.

Auto-update can be disabled and you can manually update all or specific applications. To do this, you need to: go to Google Play - "Settings" and uncheck "Notifications" and "Update automatically".

For devices oniOS

"Settings" - "General" - "Content update".

After that, you will see all applications that are updating in the background. Review the list of applications and disable those programs that you do not need. This step will not only speed up the phone, but also save some battery power.

10. Disable GPS and geolocation.

For devices on iOS

There are applications that can only work if they continuously track the location of the owner of the phone, even when they are not using them. They can slow down your smartphone a lot, and to turn them off, go to "Settings" - "Privacy" - "Geolocation services". This will open a list of all applications that are related to location sensors. In the required applications, activate the option "When used" or "Never".

For devices on Android

If you do not want to use your phone as a navigator, then it is better to turn off GPS. To do this, go to "Settings" - "Coordinates" (or "Location") and uncheck all items.

To speed up your iPhone, you can also hard reset the device. This reboot saves the phone from temporary and cached files. To start such a restart, press and hold the Home button for a while (until the Apple logo appears). On the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, use the volume button to do this.

12. Task manager.

Each smartphone has a built-in Task Manager that allows you to close any running applications that you do not need at that moment. Closing an application means that it is being unloaded from RAM, which means that the smartphone will work faster. But you can download a separate Task Manager created by a third-party developer.

13. Clearing the cache of applications and the browser.

For Android devices

To clear the cache go to "Settings" - "Applications" - "Manage applications". After you clicked on the application, go to its properties and find "Clear cache". In this way, you get rid of outdated data, which in turn speeds up the operation of applications.

Google Play has a large number of task managers with which you can manage your applications, disable unused programs and clear the cache. You can download the Clean Master app - it is convenient because it has Russian, it is understandable and it can perform many different functions, just like a Swiss knife.

For iOS devices

The iPhone does not have the function of clearing the cache in certain programs, which means that it would be better to download and install a third-party application. A great option is the Battery Doctor app (also available on Google Play), which is free by the way. After downloading and installing this application, open the icon on the smartphone screen and you can start cleaning.

Go to the tab that contains the cache and confirm the deletion. It's also worth noting that Battery Doctor lets you log into your smartphone's memory and you can keep track of how the free space is filling up. In addition, you can delete applications that you have not used for a long time.

You should not run this application too often, since iOS itself is able to cope with most active processes.

How to speed up your phone

14. Do a hard reset to factory settings.

If you have tried all the methods and nothing has yielded significant results, you will have to return the device to the factory settings. This will allow the phone to return to its original condition (when it left the factory). But be aware that such a reboot will erase all data from the phone, so save all your photos, music, contacts, applications and important files in advance. But this method will also save the phone from unnecessary junk.

For iOS devices

"Settings" - "General" - "Reset settings" (Reset). Click "Erase All Content and Settings" and confirm your password. You can also reset the settings to factory settings via iTunes: "Settings" - "General" - scroll to the "Reset" tab. Then either "Reset settings" (delete all data except files), or "Reset content and settings" (delete all information).

For devices on Andoid

"Menu" - "Settings" - "Restore and reset" - scroll to the very bottom to the item "Reset settings" (in some smartphones it is called "Reset phone settings" or "General reset" or "Erase all data").

Hello, as you understood from the title, in this article we will talk about how you can speed up Android. The problem of "freezing" on phones and tablets is very common and worries many android owners. But unfortunately, not everyone can eliminate this deficiency on their own. Before moving on to solving this problem, let's look at the reasons for its occurrence.

Why Android slows down and freezes

The owner of a new Android device is initially satisfied with the speed of its operation, but after a while, as a rule, the following happens:

  • The smartphone takes longer to start up.
  • Games start to lag.
  • The battery drains noticeably faster.
  • Gesture control is impaired.
  • The response time of sites when surfing the web is significantly increased.

Why does the smartphone start to slow down and glitch? In most cases, this is due to the large number of games and applications installed. Over time, they accumulate and at the same time begin to create a large number of unnecessary files and folders that take away free space from RAM.

RAM (RAM) is the so-called "Random Access Memory" (Random Access Memory), which, while Android is running, stores the executable program code, as well as data processed by the processor.

The most common reasons why a smartphone “slows down” and “freezes”:

  1. Lack of system or RAM.
  2. A large number of installed games and applications.
  3. A lot of "garbage" (residual folders and files that remain in the device after removing unnecessary games and applications).
  4. Outdated software (software).
  5. A large number of services and programs are running and running at the same time.

These are the main reasons for slowing down gadgets. It is the lack of memory that most often causes the simultaneous manifestation of the above problems. If you've noticed all of these signs, then it's time to clean up your RAM. Now that we know the reasons, we can move on to ways to eliminate them.

How to clean and speed up Android

Do not be upset that your gadget starts to freeze - in most cases this problem can be easily solved. What to do? Most often, it's enough just to install and run a special application for cleaning and speeding up Android. We also recommend following these tips to help make your phone faster:

  1. Remove or stop any applications you do not need in the settings. If you are unable to uninstall system programs, then the instructions for uninstalling built-in applications can be read.
  2. Clear your cache regularly.
  3. Perform a full factory reset periodically.
  4. Update the firmware (software).
  5. Transfer data to SD Card.
  6. Stop or uninstall unnecessary applications.
  7. Disable GPS.
  8. Disable sync and unnecessary services in the settings.

Usually, following these recommendations is sufficient. But if you do not want to do all the actions manually, then you can use a special application for this and simplify the whole process. Install a free application to quickly clean and speed up your Android device in one click.

Do you remember the moment when you bought your Android smartphone? Everything worked so quickly and so smoothly that it was hard to believe. Now that some time has passed, the operation of the device has slowed down significantly. Moreover, so much so that it starts to annoy - after all, the gadget slows down even when you urgently need to open your favorite application. Is it possible to somehow speed up the work of Android, and what needs to be done for this?

First of all, take your time looking for a new phone. Let's first try to return the agility to the old familiar smartphone. The methods proposed below are not at all complicated, and anyone, even a novice user, can cope with them. Well, if no resuscitation measures will help, you will still have to go to the salon for a new device. So here's what you need to do.

Device update

When was the last time you updated your device? To keep your smartphone running as smoothly as possible, you need to be up to date with the latest software versions. You can easily check for updates on your device by opening the basic settings and clicking "About the program" - the necessary information is in the section " Updating the software". You can find more details about how it works on different devices in the "Instructions" section.

Revision of a set of widgets

Be careful when filling out your home screen panels: be selective to suggested shortcuts and widgets... Widgets consume a certain amount of processing power and affect the battery life of a smartphone by consuming battery power. Therefore, it is better to limit their number. Remove the ones you rarely use and you will most likely see performance improvements. If you are decisive enough to part with live wallpaper, it will be great too. Put the usual, static ones - they can also be beautiful and original.

Removing applications

Surely there are applications on your smartphone that were installed a long time ago and are firmly forgotten. Make it a rule delete unused for a long time of the application - this can speed up the operation of the device. The uninstallation process is simple: go to Settings on your phone, find the Applications category there and open the Application Management option there. The tabs at the top will show downloaded apps, running apps, all apps and apps on the SD card. This visibility makes it easy to find applications you don't need.

Disable animation

Android OS has a hidden setting that will give you access to several additional commands (""). Go to Settings -> About -> Build Number and tap this number seven times. You now have access to the developer menu. You will be able to see many actions that were previously inaccessible to you, but if you are not an experienced developer, it is better to leave them alone. Find only the currently needed Window Animation Scale option and select " Disable animation". This is another step towards improving the performance of your device.

Switching to ART

If your phone is running Android 5.0 Lollipop or higher, you are using the ART workspace. If the smartphone runs on Android 4.4 KitKat or earlier versions of the operating system, then the DAVILIK environment is used by default. However, you have the ability to switch to a faster version of ART, and the option is hidden in the section for developers. Scroll down the "Applications" section, find the "Select Runtime" option there, open and select there " Use ART".

Cleaning up space in the smartphone's memory

From time to time, you need to clean your device from unnecessary information and content. Think about how many photos are stored on your smartphone. Why so much? Save all photos in the cloud or on a physical medium, and in the memory of the device, leave only those that are especially dear to you or may be useful at any time for any specific purpose. Open the folder " Downloads". Do you know that everything you need from it has already been duplicated on your smartphone? In most cases, this folder can be completely emptied.

Be sure to go to the "Memory" page in "Settings" and click "Other". This category includes application data, files downloaded from the internet via Bluetooth, and Android system files. Select the "Explorer" option, use it to find and define the files that you do not need. However, if you do not know what the file is for, do not delete it - it may be important for the operation of the device!

Clearing the cache

The longer and more often you use the application, the more data is cached to improve the performance of the application. But what is good for an application may be bad for other programs and the performance of the device itself. The good news is that you can clear your cache quickly. Open Android settings and go to the device memory page. Scroll down the list until you find " Cached data Click on it - a pop-up window will appear asking if you want to clear all cached data. Confirm the cleaning.

Factory reset

Sometimes the best way to breathe new life into your Android device is this is to execute Factory Reset(also known as hard reset, or factory reset). This performance enhancement is especially effective for older phones. However, please note that performing a factory reset will erase all of your data. Therefore, before doing this step, you will need to do all your files. You can use the fact that the Factory Reset does not delete information from the microSD memory card installed in the slot of the device. Alternatively, back up to this card. To reset your smartphone to factory settings, go to Settings -> Backup & reset -> Factory data reset.

How to speed up or optimize an Android device - sooner or later, any owner asks this question, because slowly but surely even the most sophisticated smartphone will become clogged with unnecessary files, and the wear of the microcircuits does not increase the speed of the smartphone. But even the most braking device can be accelerated!

Optimization or acceleration of the device must be approached comprehensively, we have described four main stages, after completing which you are guaranteed to speed up your smartphone or tablet: this will affect both the FPS in games and the speed of launching applications. All stages, except for the first, improve the stability of the device, but with the swap file - you have to experiment yourself, because it can give both positive and negative results.

Its main advantage is that it consumes less system resources, is quite flexible in customization and is as close as possible to a pure Android OS.

It is especially useful to set Nova Launcher for "weak" devices and devices of little-known (Chinese) brands. Also, custom skins are used to maximize the customization of the smartphone for the user, and we will analyze the main ones in the following articles (stay tuned).

In this article, we have analyzed 3 main ways to speed up android: correct configuration using the "Developer Options", the use of special software and regular actions to optimize the android device, optimization and acceleration of android using custom shells (launchers)

In the process of using Android devices, you often encounter slowdowns after a certain period of use. Earlier, to eliminate this problem, I even resorted to a complete reset of the phone to factory settings, which to a large extent "revived" it and it continued to "fly" for a while, until it gradually became overgrown with brakes again. Moreover, the problem could not be solved by very popular programs for optimizing Android, it seems that they did more harm than benefit. How to effectively deal with this problem and how to prevent its occurrence?

The main reason for the slowdown of an Android device is the lack of system resources to ensure the normal operation of the operating system itself and all programs. As in the case with, for a radical solution to the problem, you just need to free up enough resources for the system to "breathe freely" again. But this will only resolve the issue for a while, as when using Android optimization programs. After some time, the resources will again be "clogged", causing braking. A more lasting effect is needed. For him, you just need to adhere to a few simple but very effective rules.

Delete without regret anything you don't use

A simple and straightforward rule. It requires you to periodically review the list of installed programs and remove those that you have stopped using.

This is due to the fact that many programs run in the background in the Android system and synchronize with a remote server. If you do not use such a program, then it is simply wasting the resources of your device, which could be spent on something more useful. Do not hesitate to uninstall such programs. If necessary, you can always put them back.

To do this, find unnecessary programs in the list of installed programs and remove them. In this case, free up not only RAM (which is very important), but also space in the device's memory.

The same goes for photos and videos. Connect the device from time to time to a computer (or use it) to transfer photos and videos to the reserve, after which deleting them from the device. This will leave more memory for caching application data, so the operating system does not have to figure out where to get a place for the system or other programs.

Disable background sync

Not all programs can be uninstalled, as some still need to be used from time to time. But in this case, you can save money, saving not only system resources, but also the battery charge. You can prevent some programs from background synchronization via the mobile Internet.

To turn off background optimization, go to “ Settings» — « Data transfer". At the bottom there will be a list of programs that use the network. At the top of the list are the most active. It is them that must be watched.

If you don't need an application on the go, you can turn off its background synchronization. Click on such an application and activate the item " Limit background».

Replace programs with browser

Unfortunately, many Android users forget (and some do not even suspect) that their phone has a browser. Many Android programs duplicate site content. For example, news apps or social media clients. Instead of keeping dozens of programs constantly running in the background and synchronizing with the server, you can simply keep the same number of bookmarks in the browser and open them when needed. At the same time, the only program that will be involved in this matter is the browser.

Of course, you should understand that abandoning programs should not negatively affect the usability. For example, if the site is not adapted for viewing from mobile devices, then you should not replace the site application.

Conversely, if the application and the site are convenient for reading from a phone or tablet, then it is better to use the site, since one browser consumes clearly fewer resources than dozens of programs that are constantly online and constantly update data.

Personally, in my Google Chrome browser, several tabs of the sites that I read are constantly open. In principle, I do not close them, so as not to search for the desired site in the list of bookmarks every time. Just when I open a browser, I select the desired tab and refresh the page to get the latest data.
